Brexit trade deal with EU could take 10 years, UK ambassador to EU says – BBC

Ivan Rogers, UK’s envoy to the European Union, has told the UK government that the Brexit deal with EU might take 10 years to finalize and could still fail, according to a report by BBC on Thursday.

The report said Rogers warned ministers that a deal might a not be done until the early to mid-2020s, and that it could be eventually scrapped by national parliaments.

PM May’s office said it did not recognise the views expressed by the diplomat, the BBC said.
